[Orchestral] Meadowlands

Yo everyone, I'm back again. Managed to miss last week due to silly stuff, but I'm back on the grind! A few days back I managed to get the Film Score Companion plugin collection by SoniVox, and oh boy it's amazing. I've wanted to get into orchestral music for many years now and now that I have this collection of delicious instruments I can get into it properly. I started off this tune as a sorta LoZ inspired overworld tune, but it spiraled out of control real fast and ended up as a rather THICC piece of music. Would love to hear your feedback, thank you for listening, and I'll see you next week (hopefully)!

Good use of instrumentation, very pretty notes and close to the theme.

On to the points you could push this even further with. Panning: you're working with an orchestra now, which means you have sections and these sections have physical locations on stage, keep those in mind; for example put the strings a little to the left, the woodwinds to the right, percussion in the rear and brass front and center. Bonus points for a choir. Dynamics aka volume: your balance is spot on, but the entire orchestra plays all notes at the same volume aside from the intro, it's fine if you let a section mellow out for a bit at some points without killing them. Lastly, tempo: maybe the piece is too short to fully make use of it, but you could slow down a few phrases to build stronger tension or extra relief.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna have to use these points for my own work.

Sweet tune! Didn’t think it was too THICC; a very solid and memorable overworld theme smile

Heroic and anthemic. The definitions of THICC I googled don't seem to fit at all ::)

That intro is the perfect way to create a wide sense of space - reminds me of Minimal by Isak Bjorn Hedlund. Great job with the orchestral sounds, your arrangement style is really solid heart

Goodness gracious I LOVE these strings.  I really need to learn how to get on this level.  WOW.  So beautiful.

What was that sound at the end?

Thank you! I actually had a wind sample playing through the whole thing to give it a bit more atmosphere wink
